HHS Team Places 3rd in Sectionals
The Headland High School Golf Team placed third at the State Sectionals at Azalea City Golf Course in Mobile on April 29th. UMS-Wright won the Sectional by 9 shots over 2nd place St. James with Andalusia placing fourth. All four teams qualified for the Sub-State tournament to be held at Timber Creek in Daphne, AL on Tuesday, May 7th. HHS Team members are Zach Buchanan (led the team with a 79); Payton Deshazo, Ryan Parish, Hunter Cochran, and Cameron Kennedy.

Six teams competed Thursday, Apr 18th at Headland Country Club
Headland, April 18, 2013: The Headland High School Golf team won a Wiregrass Athletic Conference (WAC) area golf match with a team total 326 on April 18th at the Headland Country Club. Rehobeth placed second with a team total of 351 and Slocomb was third with a team total of 362. Also participating were teams from Geneva County High School (WAC), Houston Academy and Providence Christian Academy. In all, 31 golfers participated.
Alabama-Auburn 2-Man Scramble
Headland Country Club will hold a tournament and raffle on November 17th. Details are below and we urge you to participate in both. Don McGriff, Tyler Brackin and Mike Smith shot a consistent 57-57=114 to win the 2012 HCC 3 Man Scramble on Saturday and Sunday, August 18-19 at the Headland Country Club. Hunter Herring, Will Parker and Micah Holley came in 2nd place with a 56-60=116 score followed by 3rd place team Jeff Lane, Pistol Willis and Chris Ingram who shot 58-60=118.Charles Money, Mills Money and Matthew Money was the Championship B flight with a score of 62-62=124 just edging out 2nd place team Jeff Andrews, Jason Harris and Joey Burgoon who shot 62-63=125 and 3rd place team Todd Weeks, Walter Gay and Greg Hutchenson who show 64-63=127.
In the First Flight, the team of Jarred Garrity, Duane Golden and Mike Wilborn won the flight with Denny Steele, Fred Arnold and Mike McLancy taking 2nd place by regression over 3rd place team Tim Hill, David Reeves and Patrick Reeves as both teams shot 66-62=128.
